Remembering Hulk Hogan’s Visit to Carmel

As Captain Lou Albano’s grandson, this moment hits close to home. When I heard about Hulk Hogan’s passing, it reminded me of the day he visited Carmel earlier this year. My dad Carl and I were there at ShopRite on March 5, and it was an unforgettable moment to see the larger-than-life wrestling legend who used to be great friends with my grandfather. The Hulk made an everlasting impression on our  community.

Hogan’s career also intersected with that of legendary wrestler, manager, and Mahopac resident “Captain” Lou Albano, whose family continues to play a major role in local life. Captain Lou’s grandson Louis John Albano and his dad, former county legislator Carl Albano—both from Albano Agency Insurance & Real Estate—were on hand when Hogan visited and shared the above photo from his March 5 visit to the ShopRite in Carmel, as a tribute to Hogan and to mark his passing.

“Rest in Peace to the legend Hulk Hogan, a great man!” Louis John Albano wrote.
